Namura Technologies Member of the Week: Stone Petta

Member of the Week: Stone Petta

Written By: Jackie Riess

Stone Petta learned how to ride a dirt bike at the age of 3. He continued riding for many years, and began competing in District 23 ARMCA at the age of 10. Stone now competes in the 250B class in hare scrambles and the C classes in motocross. One of his proudest moments was his first race win in the peewee class at the 2018 Hi-Winders Millville hare scramble. In 2022, Stone is shifting his focus towards motocross and strives to improve his skills throughout the year. Though his family is moving to California this summer, we are proud to have Stone with us for the beginning of the season.

Stone is inspired and encouraged by his father because of the relationship they have developed over years of motorcycling. He values his father’s support, and tries his hardest on the track to make him proud. In addition to this relationship, motorcycling has brought unmeasurable fun to his life, something he chooses to focus on before heading out on the track. In the winter, Stone enjoys skiing, especially in the terrain park. And the perfect end to a day of either sport is grilling burgers with his dad.

Once advised by his dad to “focus on what he can control,” Stone has learned to focus on himself and use his thoughts to his advantage. Passing on a word of advice, he encourages other D23 ARMCA members to “do what makes them happy.” Stone is grateful and thankful for all involved in D23 ARMCA.

In the case of enduro and hare scrambles events, all amateur class motorcycles will be sound tested at all events or a minimum of 50 adult size bikes must be tested after the finish on the day of the meet or the top three finishers in the AA, overall A, overall B, and overall C after the finish.

For off road trail rides, all amateur class motorcycles will be sound tested at all events.

Further information can be found in the D23 ARMCA Rulebook, as well as Appendix 5.2 Sound Limits & Testing Procedures, page 345 of the AMA Rulebook.”

Member of the Week: Sean Scott

Written By: Jackie Riess

Sean Scott first hopped on a PW50 at the age of 4. Later that summer, after his fifth birthday, he joined District 23 ARMCA and competed in a handful of motocross races that year. After a nearly ten year hiatus, he came back to D23 ARMCA in 2009. Sean now competes in the Open B and 25+ B classes in motocross, and proudly claimed 75% of holeshots in the races he competed in in 2021. In 2022, he strives to improve on the track in order to set himself up for a successful transition to the A classes in 2023. In addition to riding and racing, Sean is an avid hunter, fisherman, and overall outdoorsman.

Inspired by his closest friends, Sean continues to compete in D23 ARMCA because of these friendships, and the young, upcoming talent seen across all disciplines. Fueled by fresh fruit and quiet time on race day, his overall motorcycling experience has taught him the importance of hard work and preparation in order to do his best when it counts most. Sean encourages other riders to take a sight lap before pinning it for the safety of all riders, and wishes all D23 ARMCA members a safe and fun-filled season.
