Attention Off Road Parents

There will be NO volunteer bonus points awarded in the youth classes in 2022.  It is planned to be a temporary change. We are working on getting it up and running for the 2023 season.

This means that racers in the following youth classes (65cc  7-11, 85cc 7-15, Junior 11-15 and Girls 9-15) are not eligible for volunteer bonus points for 2022. However, a minor that competes in an amateur and a youth class can volunteer to earn bonus points in the amateur class at an event and still race their youth class as long as they do not work on the youth course.  They can also help with any administrative tasks that are age appropriate.

Trevor Guetschoff started his two-wheel career on a Strider, soon moved to a Stacyc, then moved up to a dirt bike, all by the age of four. He began racing in District 23 ARMCA at this point, and now competes in motocross in the 50cc Electric 4-6 class. In 2021, Trevor finished 2nd overall in the class, which he believes is his greatest racing accomplishment yet! Looking ahead to this upcoming season, he has goals of qualifying for Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Motocross National in the Micro-E class, but despite achievement of this goal, he will focus on having fun this summer.

In preparation for racing, Trevor enjoys quiet time on the gate to focus his mind. Afterwards, he enjoys tacos to celebrate his hard work. Trevor continues to race in D23 ARMCA because of the quality time he spends with family and friends, as well as the travel involved with competition. Motorcycling has also helped Trevor to develop life skills that can be applied off the race track, some of which come from his coach, Mike Evenson. From these experiences, Trevor advises other D23 ARMCA members to focus on themselves and remember to have fun!

Spring Flood Run April 16th - Road Ride

The Flood Run is a biannual run which raises money for Gillette Specialty Healthcare.  The events take place the third Saturdays of April and September.  The 2022 dates are April 16th and September 17th.

The Run goes through the North Star Riders (NSR), a group of motorcycle riders who work at Polaris Industries or Indian Motorcycle, and is managed by a long time D23/ARMCA member.  The NSR joined the AMA and District 23/ARMCA in 2018.  Since that time the amount raised for the kids and families at who receive treatment at Gillette has more than doubled.  Last year, the combined annual Run total was over $66,000.

This year, Gillette turns 125 years.  This is also the 5th year the Run will go through the North Star Riders.  In consideration of the milestones, the goal is to raise $100,000 for Gillette this year.  Wristbands for the event are $10.

The historic loop of 218 miles is from Lake St Croix Beach down to Winona, across the bridge to Wisconsin, back up to Prescott, then back to Lake St Croix Beach.  The Gold Star ride is for the people who can ride the entire route in the day.  Participants pay an extra $20 (plus the wristband) and pick up a card which is stamped at various places along the route.  The card is turned in at the end of the day and participants receive a special Gold Star Flood Run pin.  This pin can not be purchased, only earned.  There is an option to pick up the card in the southern part of the route in Maiden Rock, WI.

This year, there is also a sport bike route which gives a few more turns than the normal route.  This route can be purchased for the wristband plus $5.  Riders can pick up the route sheet and map from the Run start in Lake St Croix Beach.  Ride the route on the day of the run or save it for another day.

Come and support the Flood Run and Gillette Children’s specialty.  Pick up a wristband and some Flood Run merchandise.  Because of the generosity of Polaris Foundation and Indian Motorcycle, 100% of all funds collected go directly to Gillette.

Member of the Week: Jayden Albrecht

Jayden Albrecht competes in District 23 ARMCA Hare Scrambles in the 85cc and Junior classes. He began riding in 2017, and soon joined District 23 ARMCA in 2018. Last year, he was proud to finish 7th overall in the Junior class of D23 ARMCA Hare Scrambles. And in 2022, he has goals of finishing in the top 5 in both classes. Jayden also strives to improve his overall speed in the woods. In addition to riding and racing, Jayden enjoys football, camping, swimming, and hanging out with his friends.

Jayden truly enjoys the experience of riding a dirt bike, but the community is what keeps him coming back. He loves going to the races with his family and friends, and is inspired by many of these people. His mom inspires him through words of encouragement, his step dad through racing guidance, his cousins who are long time racers, and older racers who give him advice. Jayden truly enjoys the fun, family time racing gives him.

Racing has also given Jayden a strengthened sense of confidence, and has helped him to develop responsibility and determination. These are traits his closest friends and family members have encouraged him to embody. Jayden advises other District 23 ARMCA members to have fun, practice hard, stay determined, and never give up.
