Namura Technologies Member of the Week: Gage Ekman

Written By: Jackie Riess

Gage Ekman began riding at the age of 3, and soon began racing in District 23 ARMCA at the age of 4. In 2021, Gage competed in the 50cc and 65cc classes with his focus on Hare Scrambles. Additionally, he competed in a handful of Motocross races, and plans to compete in a similar racing schedule in 2022. However, this year he will compete solely on his 65cc. 2021 also brought Gage his greatest racing accomplishment yet: the 50cc Senior Hare Scrambles Championship. In 2022, he strives to place in the top 5 of the 65cc class in Hare Scrambles, and later down the road he aspires to become a professional racer.

In addition to riding and racing, Gage enjoys many outdoor activities: mountain biking, swimming, fishing, camping, hunting, downhill skiing, snowmobiling, and of course, doing flips. However, none of these activities compare to his favorite: dirt biking. On race day, Gage enjoys the competition and friendships he’s made in D23 ARMCA. He and his friends exchange excitement as they wait to race, and once the flag flies, Gage focuses on having fun. Something he encourages other District 23 ARMCA members to focus on in their own riding.

Namura Technologies Member of the Week: Emma Sinnen

Written By: Jackie Riess

Emma Sinnen joined District 23 ARMCA in the summer of 2021 to compete in Quad Motocross. She decided to jump head first into the series, and finished 3rd overall in the Women’s class. This was a personal accomplishment for Emma, as she challenged herself to get out of her comfort zone and try a new sport! Inspired by her boyfriend and family (who also participate in Quad Motocross), she is encouraged to continue trying new things and facing obstacles in racing. In 2022, she strives to continue improving on the track, and live in the moment to enjoy her weekends at the track.

As a former hockey player, Emma still enjoys ice skating, however, her focus has shifted towards Quad MX. And though she didn’t begin competing at a young age, she has learned that it is never too late to try something new. She encourages other D23 ARMCA members to try new and difficult things, and enjoy life while we’re here.

Namura Technologies Member of the Week: Wayne Beach

Written By: Jackie Riess

What do pickles, candy, and pep talks have in common? They all help prepare motocross racer Wayne Beach for the track. Wayne has been riding dirt bikes since he was three years old, and joined District 23 ARMCA to begin racing at the age of four. Wayne now competes in the 50cc Shift & Shaft, Oil Injected, and Multi-Speed classes. His greatest racing accomplishment so far is winning the Little Falls Featured Event and receiving the prestigious trophy. And in 2022, Wayne has goals of qualifying for the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Motocross Championship.

Wayne loves motorcycling in D23 ARMCA because of the happiness it brings him and the ability to race with his closest friends. In addition to riding dirt bikes, he also enjoys riding bicycles and snowmobiles when the weather is right. Inspired by local racer, Adam Deal, Wayne has committed to the “pin it to win it” and “give it the beans” advice he’s been given, which showed in his 2021 D23 ARMCA results.
