Weather Update - Diamond MX
Weather update from Diamond Dale at Diamond MX Park: “If you’re planning to head down this weekend I’d recommend waiting until Saturday morning. There’s a decent amount of rain predicted and I’d hate for you to make the drive if we have to cancel. We’ll update more in the AM”

What discipline(s) do you participate in? Class(es)?
Hare scrambles 60A and Enduro 60A
When did you begin riding and racing? At what point did you become a District 23 ARMCA member?
I started riding at age 13. I raced motocross when I was 18
What is the greatest accomplishment of your riding/racing career?
Watching my two daughters, Michelle and Mary, and my two sons, Paul and Mark, grow up on dirt bikes and all four of them become state champions.
What are your goals for 2023? Beyond?
To give back to the sport by helping at the races, organize weekly trail rides and win another jacket.
Why do you continue to race in D23 ARMCA?
I enjoy racing and the D23 community. Minnesota has good people that put on great races.
Who inspires you in racing?
Old guys that still ride and race. When I see a 70 year old racing, I want to be that guy some day.
How has motorcycling impacted your life?
The D23 racing community is a great place to raise a family. Racing builds character. A winner on the track is usually a winner at life.
What is your favorite food to eat on race day?
A McDonalds Big Breakfast with hot cakes.
How do you get pumped up to ride/race? Music? Pep talks? Maybe quiet time is more your style?
I am actually calm on race day. If my bike is dialed in and I am healthy, I am going to do well.
What else do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy restoring old motorcycles. My wife and I like to travel. We also spend winters in Arizona where I trail ride and race the AMRA offroad series.
What advice has a fellow rider/racer given you that you follow?
Your bike is your dance partner. Learn how your bike moves and move with it.
What advice do you have for other D23 ARMCA members?
Join a club. You are going to meet some great people and have more fun than you thought possible.
Anything else you’d like to mention?
Racing should be fun. Don't take it too seriously. Just enjoy the ride.

Winning the D23 King of the Hill Championship four times
What are your goals for 2023? Beyond?
2023 will be my first full season of American Hillclimb East. Hoping to get a few wins in the 450 and twins class and compete for a championship in them two classes.
Beyond is just help Hillclimb grow. Either Amateur or Pro the sport is just too cool to stagnate!
Why do you continue to race in D23 ARMCA?
D23 is not just home, it is by far the most competitive amateur Hillclimb scene. If you can win in D23 you can win anywhere.

Racing Open bikes. Riding dirt bikes with 120-150 HP is one of most fun on two wheels.

I don’t really eat much during the race, but getting some DQ ice cream on the way home is always clutch.
How do you get pumped up to ride/race? Music? Pep talks? Maybe quiet time is more your style?
Typically just prep bikes and walk the hill before the race. I like to observe others rides to find the best line.
What else do you like to do for fun?
Bass fishing. If I’m not riding or racing. I want to be fishing.
What advice has a fellow rider/racer given you that you follow?
Trust yourself and your abilities. The biggest battle is fighting your own self doubt. Get past that and you’ll get your best results.
What advice do you have for other D23 ARMCA members?
Join a club or help a promoter. The races won’t happen without them!
