Support the Legislators that Support Us

One part of keeping our sport alive and well in the state is by working with the legislature to get things fixed or to stop things that would cause us problems. Many times, more work is spent stopping things such as the bill that wouldn’t allow a person to ride more than 10mph past someone not on an OHV (like flaggers at motocross races or checkers at enduros or hare scrambles); or the bill that would fine or tax people who drove more than 50 miles per day in any vehicle. Some of the good things are getting any dirtbike licenses as a dual sport, allowing national training to be used instead of MN specific training, adding a trail pass to make it easier for out of state residents to ride MN OHM trails.

All of these things require the support of legislators to make it happen. This year is an election year and two of our biggest supporters over the years have reached out to ask for our financial support with their campaigns. We have said that dirt bike riding, and other OHV activity, is a bi-partisan issue. The fact that our supporters are from both parties show this is true.

ARMCA can’t contribute to these campaigns directly, but you can. Even better, you can get up to $50 per person ($100 per couple) back on contributions you make to state political candidates. The legislators will send you a receipt and instructions with your contribution.

If you wish to attend their fundraisers, you can do that as well. The information for the fundraisers and how to contribute is below. Please mark you memo section of the check with ‘ARMCA’ to show that you are ARMCA members.

Rep David Dill – D 3A

Contributions can be sent to:

Rep Tom Hackbarth – R 31B

Tom Hackbarth Volunteer Committee

Pick your party and send in your contribution or even better, be bi-partisan and send a contribution to both.

These legislators are being singled out specifically because they have authored (introduced) our good bills and helped us fight the bad bills. Please help us show our appreciation by supporting them in their bids for re-election.
