Quad Guyz Questions

QUAD RACING-4 Wheels On the Wild Side

 Quad racing is big and bad! 2002 will be one of the most competitive years in the history of quad mx racing in District 23.This season will see more current champions, former champions, and race winners than you will see in any class of mx racing in the state of Minnesota. Each weekend racing fans will be treated to 250cc and Open class action that will have full gates of riders. There will be at least 10 riders that are serious and could win at any time. Look for a return of the women’s class; these girls are all hoping to take a shot at the state championship. For the beginner, the "blaster class" will be just as wild as ever.

    For the uninformed, quads run the same course as the bikes on the same day. They do all the same jumps, whoops, and obstacles as the mx motorcycles do. At some tracks their lap times are faster than the 250 A motocross class! I love to watch quads race, and this year will be pure action.

So are you interested in racing? Here is a short list of what you will need:

(A.) Class choices are:

    1.)    200cc two stroke to 350cc four stroke {blasters warriors etc},

2.)    250cc two stroke to 440cc four stroke {250r, 400ex etc.}

3.)    Open class anything goes up to 600cc two stroke and 700cc four stroke {raptors, banshees, ds 650s etc}.

4.)    Women’s open

5.)     +30 vet open

(B.) Nerf bars and a tether kill switch

(C.) Numbers on the front fenders, rear fenders, and rear grab bar

(D.) Proper riding gear including boots, a helmet, gloves, long sleeve jersey, and pants.

(E.) Both AMA and Dist.23 membership cards are required

(F.) There is an .80 overbore limit on all classes except the 440 4 stroke which allows NO overbore.

If you want to race but are still unsure about what is legal I will do my best to steer you in the proper direction.

That’s it, that’s what it takes to join the ranks of the quad racing. They put on a great show and have the exciting fun mx racing!
