The District 23 Message Boards are available at no charge to our members and any other interested parties.
It's up to you to be a responsible user of this service. A message board can be a very powerful and
useful tool; however, when used in the wrong way, it can be destructive and harmful to ARMCA, its
promoters, and even you.
These message boards will be moderated as much as humanly possible and ARMCA District 23 reserves the right
to alter or remove any post as necessary which may be offensive or derogatory in any way.
Given the "real-time" nature of the internet the views and expressions on these message boards are not
necessarily the views and expressions of ARMCA District 23.
Anyone can, and will be able to browse the ARMCA forums without registering
for a user ID. Guests may register and create a user name to post to Classifieds
and the Guest Discussion/Questions forum. Your email address will be held
privately by ARMCA District 23 and not be given to any other parties.
Only D23 card holding members will be allowed to view and post on all of the
forums after they enter their real name and district number in their profile
(see instructions below). Note after you enter your Real Name and District
Number, it will take a couple days for us to validate your information and then
upgrade you to view and post to all forums. You will receive an email when you
are validated and ready to post to all forums. Only forum moderators will be
allowed to view district card numbers and real name information unless you
choose to have that publicly displayed during the registration process or by
modifying your user ID preferences.
How to Update Your Message Board Profile:
1 Go to http://bb.armca.org or
click the link below
2 If you are not logged in to
the forum, it will say “You are logged in as a guest” just
below the 1st
blue menu bar on the left side. Then click on “Logon” to get logged on.
3 Then click on “Control Panel”
in the upper right of the blue main menu bar.
4 Please update your “Real
Name”, “District 23 Number” (4 digit number on the back of
member card)
and “E-Mail Address”. All of these need to be valid information.
5 Click on the “Submit” button
in the “Edit your profile” box, below where you updated
your
information.
The following are examples of behaviors that may result in your post being removed or having your posting
privileges revoked:
1. Frequent use of obscenities or crude or sexual subject matter.
2. Personal attacks. It’s fine to disagree with a post and state your reasons why or even question the
poster’s motivations, but when you start attacking a person or organization, that can become unacceptable.
For example “You think that’s good because you’re a promoter, but us riders think…” would be OK, but
“You think that’s good because you are a greedy tightwad who’s cruel to old people.” would not be.
3. Calling people out by name with allegations. For example, it’s OK to say, “There are certain riders in
C class that shouldn’t be there…”, but to say “Joey Gofast is a sandbagger” isn’t OK, unless it’s very
obvious that you’re kidding. This is especially true if you start naming minors.
4. Repeatedly posting things in the wrong classified forum. For example, if you’re selling an ATV, don’t
put it in “Motorcycles – Wanted”. Doing it once or twice accidentally is alright, but a general pattern
of it is not.
5. Posting classified ads that have nothing to do with motorcycles or ATVs. Generators, a truck that can
haul bikes, or even a property with trails or a track would all be OK, but Tupperware or furniture would
not. The first few times, the post will be removed. If it continues, you may get your posting privileges
revoked.
6. Frequently, re-posting the same classified ad.
Putting it back up after 2-3 weeks is fine, but much sooner than that is
not.
The first three are specific to this message board. This is a family sport and we are a family-oriented
organization. There are plenty of other message boards out there where you can insult, slander, swear,
and talk dirty all you want. We have chosen to not have this be one of them. The last three will get
you kicked off of nearly any board that offers free classified ads.
Please play nice and use the message boards in a positive way!
