Chip's Corner
New 2002 Dist. 23 Web Team

Over the last four years we’ve see many changes to the Dist. 23 website. It was Roger Grills concept to bring our website to the world. But as time goes by people make changes in their life and move on. He has done an outstanding job of bringing our AMA District 23 into the 21st Century. Technology is not something for everyone. He provided a venue that has become one of the very best district sites in the AMA. It has become a communication that we have come to expect. The hours spent on the development of this site would have cost us big money as a user group. Roger done it all for free as all our board is a volunteer group. We have received response from people all over the world because of his efforts. Roger will still be hanging around the district amongst his many friends. If you run into him, buy him a beverage and pass on your gratitude. We certainly owe Roger a huge “Thank You” for an outstanding job!

After a brief delay, we managed to get some expert volunteers to take over the webmaster position. There were a few qualified people so we came up with a plan of action that resulted in a Dist. 23 web team. Of course this is even better than we had hoped for. Since I was already involved I decided to stick around and maintain the status quo. I welcome Jason Boche aboard in the head webmaster slot. He’s a certified Microsoft MCSE and an MX racer, so the blend is nothing but a plus for us. In the assistant webmaster position is a person that many of you are already familiar with, Bob Chase. Bob developed the MX Bob web site and brings with him a solid web background. Along with the mix comes a person that’s been around the Hare Scrambles circuit for a bit. Jason Gerken jumped on board to fill the gap in those areas. We will be discussing and implementing whatever changes are needed to keep our web site up to the excellent standards that Roger laid out for us. With this team it divides the responsibilities amongst us. Maintaining a website can be a huge chore and we’re so lucky to have such professional people. I’m excited to see what the future holds in store.
