Brian & Shila would like to thank everyone for the caring & thoughtfulness everyone has shown. The past
few days have been very rough, but as Cody progresses things will get better. He had emergency surgery
to place pins & rods in his femur on Sunday, he has a broken collarbone, 4 ribs, cracked vertibrae and
severe concussion; all of which will take a long time to recover but is HEALABLE. Cody has been very
surprised by the visitors, phone calls and email messages he has received. We can’t thank everyone
enough who was there to help with Cody and help us through this.

Because of last weekend's washout, the first round (ever) will be Sunday, May 7 at
Echo Valley Motocross Park near Brookston. District

Quad MX Page.
Thanks and News from the Nathe Family 04/15/2006
Betty Nathe and Family wish to thank everybody for the calls, cards, flowers, and prayers during a
difficult time. We are currently going through radiation and chemotherapy to treat Betty's bone cancer,
we're going to fight this with every ounce of energy we have. We hope to get to the races again sometime
soon to visit with our motocross "family".
A special thank you goes out to Scott and Joyce Cripps and The Fisher's for all their help
(list too long). Also, to Mike Moores and Kristi for distributing the "Betty 65" stickers. You all
have been so generous with your donations buying these stickers. We wanted everybody to know that your
donations of $805.00 were passed on to the American Cancer Society in Betty's name. They're such a
good organization and work very hard to find the cure.
God bless, take care.
Betty, Mike, Jeremy, and Justin Nathe

Latest Annoucement concerning the 125 JR and Schoolboy classes 03/22/2006
Due to circumstances beyond our control this change will be in effect for the first week of the season.
I suspect that the board will approve of this format for the season but the next meeting will not be
until after the first race. Our 125 cc Jr class will be run as it was voted on. There will be a Loretta
Lynns Schoolboy class (this is for the 86cc 125cc 2 strokes unbored only and yes they are not totally
dead yet) offered by the promoter but it will not have to be run if there is less than 5 riders, that
is a promoter decision. This Lorettas class will be a double drop behind our 125cc Jr class so you will
not be able to ride both of them. This is not an additional class for 12 to 15 years olds. You will have
to decide which class you want to ride. The Lorettas class will NOT pay points. There is only one way
and one time per year a points class can be added and that is at the Annual meeting. So we will live by
the vote of the last annual meeting, which set the age range to 12-15, and there will be no more added classes until the next annual meeting
if they should get voted in. The only other option open to us and that is to not run either class.
Should anything different be decided at the next board meeting we will it post on our web page or as a post
on the message board.
Mike Quinn, District 23 Chairman
The Message Boards Return 03/18/2006
The new message board is up and running at http://bb.armca.org.
If you had registered on the old board, your login ID and password should work in the new one. Our
same Posting Rules and Guidelines still apply.
Updated Definition of the 125 JR class 03/16/2006
There has been a clarification in the Rule Book concerning the Motocross 125 JR class.
The age range for that class is 12-16 and is therefore considered an Amateur class.
That section of the online rule book has been
updated to reflect this.
NOTE - THIS ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED BY THE ONE ON 03/22/06.
District 23 Sound Testing Policy for 2006 03/12/2006
Starting with the first race of 2006, all of the motocross races in District 23 will be doing sound testing.
The procedure will involve class reps working in conjunction with the event referee to choose at least 10
bikes per race for testing. They will be initially be choosing those bikes that sound the loudest or they
may choose randomly. Any rider with a machine that fails that test will be given the opportunity to fix
his bike before his first race. Any bike that doesn't meet the sound requirements will not be allowed to
compete. If a bike is tested post-race and found to be too loud, (i.e., putting the loud exhaust back
on for the race), the racer will be disqualified.
The tracks will also continue to offer voluntary testing at the Saturday practice sessions. We are in the
process of informing our track vendors of this process so that they can stock the necessary parts for
mufflers. Make sure that your packing is up to par and if you use an aftermarket exhaust, be sure it
meets the 99 decibel limit. We would suggest that you carry your stock muffler and fresh packing with
you, should you be found to be too loud.
Motocross Numbers Update 03/09/2006
The 2006 Motocross Numbers have been added to the
District 23 Sign-up Page. This will be updated periodically
throughout the year.
Sad News 02/15/2006
John Martin's father, Doc Martin, passed away on February 11. Doc was an avid and active rider up until he
was 72 when his medical condition prevented him from riding
anymore. Some of you will remember him for the gnarly and nasty trails that he could find. The last year
has been somewhat rough for him as a series of strokes left him in a nursing home. He was a member of
the district for many years and rode off road just about every state in the country. God speed to him.

Into Political Action” Seminar at the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls, Minnesota on April 1-2, 2006.

• To identify actions and resources that will build and strengthen Minnesota’s motorized trail recreation clubs and associations.
Participants are encouraged to attend both the political seminar and the motorized trail recreation workshop.
However, single-day registrations will be accepted for either day to accommodate work demands and other

Ann Vance at 800-348-6487 or avance@nohvcc.org.
Anahiem 1 Spectators
Tony Wacek was the lucky winner of the trip to Anaheim I. The trip was a prize at the motocross banquet. After
getting backing from sunny So Cal, they had this to say:
I'm writing to let you know we had a great time last weekend in Anaheim. The entire trip was wonderful. The
weather was great, in fact, Friday the 6th was a record high 85 degrees. It made the outdoor pool quite
enjoyable. MX Vacations accommodated us nicely with munchies, a good meal, pit passes and great seats for the
race. As promised, Jeff Emig joined us for dinner while signing autographs, posing for pictures, and telling
stories. Spending the day in the pro pits was almost as good as the race. Tony has a stack of autographed
posters and a picture with Travis Pastrana, one of his favorite riders and all around nice guy. We really
enjoyed the whole experience, especially the chance to spend some father and son time together, and want
to thank you and District 23 for this memorable gift.
Many Thanks,
Mark and Tony Wacek
More Message Board Troubles 01/17/2006
Although it looks quite spry, the message board, in its current state, is quite ill. Short of a miracle cure,
we will probably be replacing it within the next few months. In the meantime, it might be a good idea to save
to your computer any information that you want that is on a message board topic. A phone number of someone who
is selling a bike that you are interested in, for example. We are working hard to be able to convert the
registration records, but the messages themselves will probably be lost.
